Frequently Asked Questions:

Laser Hair Removal is a treatment that uses concentrated light energy that is directed at the hair follicles to destroy them, thereby preventing future hair growth. It provides a long-lasting solution to reduce unwanted hair.
During Laser Hair Removal, a laser device emits a concentrated beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicles. The light energy is converted into heat, damaging the follicles and inhibiting their ability to produce new hairs.
Laser hair removal can provide long-term hair reduction, but it cannot guarantee permanent hair removal. Usually 6-8 treatments are needed to cover hair follicles in different growth cycles. We then recommend maintenance treatments every 6 months.
The advanced Candela GentleLase Pro laser technology allows the treatment of a wide range of skin tones and hair colors. The GentleLase Pro device is known for its effectiveness on people with lighter hair, also referred to as "The Laser for Blondes". However, laser hair removal is most effective on individuals with fair skin and dark hair, as the laser targets the contrast between hair and skin colour.
At Advance Medical Aesthetic Center, Laser Hair Removal is performed by trained and certified specialists, making it safe and poses no health risks to clients.

Depending on the hair, skin type and body area treated, treatments will be needed at 4-12 week intervals. Our therapists will guide you on the individual interval between treatments according to your needs. Each body part has a different growth cycle, so hair reduction will vary depending on what stage your follicles are at the time of treatment.

After each treatment the hair decreases, therefore it is important to complete the course of 6-8 treatments and at regular intervals for best results. We also recommend maintenance treatments every 6 months for permanent hair reduction.

One of the advantages of laser hair removal is that the procedure is almost painless, especially in compared to other methods of hair removal. Each pulse lasts less than a second and causes a slight tingling sensation. We use an advanced cooling machine in combination with our laser machine to reduce the sensation of heat on the skin and minimize any discomfort.
At Advance Medical Aesthetic Center, we use medical grade, alexandrite laser Candela GentleLase Pro technology, suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. Our advanced cooling equipment used during Laser Hair Removal, cools your skin to minimize any discomfort.

According to current medical recommendations, we cannot perform laser hair removal if you are pregnant.
Pregnant.

No, tattoos cannot be treated directly with laser hair removal equipment. We can treat around the tattooed areas with a distance of about 2-3 cm.

Topical numbing creams are neither safe nor effective for laser hair removal. The sensation, during the procedure, is not felt on the skin but in the hair follicle. The numbing cream cannot penetrate deep enough to minimize the discomfort that may be felt in the follicle. Please make sure there are no occlusive creams on the treated areas when undergoing Laser Hair Removal treatments.

GentleLase Pro treatments in combination with the cooling system minimize discomfort during the procedure and no pain relief is required.

Although laser hair removal is safe, there are potential side effects that can occur. These side effects are usually temporary and subside within a few hours to a few days. Possible side effects include redness of the skin, mild swelling, increased sensitivity in the treated area. In some cases, laser hair removal may cause temporary lightening or darkening of the skin in the treated area. These pigmented changes usually subside quickly.
